Norbert Geelen was born in 1968 in Straelen, Germany.

He graduated in Industrial Design from the University of Essen and began his career as a freelance designer at Studio Matteo Thun in Milan.
He later co-founded the design studio bert&bert with Robert Kilders, focusing on tableware and office furniture.
Since establishing his own studio in 2005 he has concentrated on designing functional, elegant furniture solutions for contemporary work and contract environments.
